Brief Description:

1869-1885.  19th century cartes de visite and stereocard views by E. Courret or Courret Hermanos.  The collection materials can be divided into two sets of images:  one, portraits of women, and two, urban scenes of Lima, Peru.  In addition to the collection of Courret materials are a set of loose, early undated photographs of rural houses in British Honduras and San José and Limón, Costa Rica.  Included also is an Alberto G. Valdeavellano photograph of Mayas from Guatemala, and 60 photographs of city and country scenes from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica roughly dating to the 1920s.
